St. Peter Catholic School Art Room

4th grade students stayed after school to participate in an Art workshop. Students learned about water based paints and how to properly use a soft bristle paintbrush. They created a fall canvas to take home.

Thank you for a wonderful first year!  I am so happy to be apart of the St Peter Art community. I'm grateful for all the wonderful people that I have met this year, and I'm looking forward to all the amazing art we will make together next year!  :)  If you have project ideas, Art Club inquires, or future student-led Art Contest plans, please email me at:  Kthurman@ stpeterjc.org  Have a great summer!

It's the end of the year and our youngest artists are doing Self Portraits! Students learned about the components of drawing a realistic Self Portrait. They learned about skin tones, hair color, and how to draw different facial features.  However, there was a twist to this project: students drew what they thought they would look like next year! For example, would they get freckles or get their ears pierced over summer break, or would they cut their hair or grow it out? Ms. Thurman will hang up our self portraits when we return after break to compare.  Check our creative process below:
