Fall Art Contest winners

  The Art Club thanks all students who entered the Fall Art Contest!  Artwork was awarded a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place based on Neatness, Color, Balance and Theme. There were a total of 60 entries throughout K-6 grades.  The following students have been awarded a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd prize for their artwork, with one overall Merit Award:  Grade First place Second place Third place Kindergarten Wright, Holden Kremer, Adelyn 1 Fairfax, Avery Partee, Adrian Kinkade, Tessa 2 Slaughter, Quinn Woodling, Ellie 3 Cheng, Sammi Hagemeyer, Lucille Ownbey, Olivia 4 Peterson, Grace Slaughter, Wyatt Eynard, Jaycie 5 Cheng, Ariel Abbott, Natalie Atkins, Alex 6 Mosha, Natalya Overall Merit Award Holloway, Malik Prizes will be given out in your next Art class. Artwork will be returned as well.  Thank you to all who entered!

4th grade Art Workshop

 4th grade students stayed after school to participate in an Art workshop. Students learned about water based paints and how to properly use a soft bristle paintbrush. They created a fall canvas to take home. 

Fall Art Contest

  Official Guidelines:  Traditional Artwork Accepted: Drawing with Value using graphite pencil, Painting (including Watercolor), Colored pencil, or Pastel. No Notebook paper or lined paper accepted. Absolutely no tracing will be accepted. No political artwork will be accepted.  Student must include first and last name, grade, class name, and title of work on back of artwork or risk being disqualified.  One entry per student. Judging based on Neatness, Color, Balance, and Theme of work. Judges are not allowed to participate in the contest. Ms. Thurman is not a judge.  Last day to enter November 18th. Winners announced November 28th. Top 3 artworks win a prize. One overall piece will win a prize (cannot win a Top prize as well).  This contest is hosted by the 6th-8th grade Art Club, a student run club with oversight provided on a volunteer bases by Ms. Thurman.
